Help Us Reach $10,000 for Indigenous Street-Style Artists

Branch Nebula is proud to join Creative Australia’s AusArt Day — and we’re calling on our community to help us raise $10,000 to make Street-Styles: Indigenous Chapter a reality.

About the Project

Street-Styles: Indigenous Chapter is a two-week professional development and community engagement program for Indigenous street-style artists.
Eight paid participants will come together to train, collaborate, and expand their creative practice across forms like skateboarding, BMX, roller-skating, street dance, and parkour.

Led by Ghenoa Gela and Luke Currie-Richardson, the project celebrates Aboriginal self-determination and the power of contemporary Indigenous expression. Guided by respect for cultural authority, rights, and innovation, it creates space for artists to share their skills and stories — transforming street-style into a platform for pride, visibility, and connection.

Why It Matters

This project provides paid professional opportunities for young Indigenous artists, addressing disengagement and challenging stereotypes that link youth culture with anti-social behaviour.
It shows what street-style really is: a space for creativity, mastery, and cultural strength.

Your support will:

  • Empower emerging Indigenous street-style artists
  • Create long-term professional pathways
  • Celebrate contemporary Indigenous culture in bold, accessible ways
  • Strengthen communities through pride and representation

How Your Donation Helps

$3,500 funds one artist’s travel and accommodation
$3,200 funds one artist’s two-week fee
$1,600 funds one artist’s one-week fee

Every dollar goes directly to supporting Indigenous artists and their creative growth.

Why Branch Nebula?

Branch Nebula has a proven track record of transforming unconventional performers into world-class artists. Street-Styles: Indigenous Chapter continues this legacy, empowering artists, inspiring audiences, and reshaping the future of Australian performance.

What is AusArt Day?

AusArt Day is a nationwide, sector-wide fundraising initiative designed to mobilise artists and arts organisations to raise funds for their work and creative ambitions on a single, powerful day. This unified call to action aims to amplify the visibility of arts philanthropy and inspire greater generosity across the country.

This inaugural event is more than a fundraiser—it’s a national public movement that celebrates and elevates the role of the arts in Australian life.

It will take place for the first time on Thursday 23 October 2025.
